Elevation Ten Thousand Takes Home 14 ADDY Awards at 2022 Capital Region American Advertising Awards

Award Season is officially underway, and I’m not just talking about the Academy Awards.

The Capital Region Advertising Federation (CRAF) hosted its annual award show – the Capital Region American Advertising Awards (known as the ADDYs) on March 4, 2022.

Hosted at the Crowne Plaza at the Desmond in Albany, New York, it was a night to remember, complete with a red carpet and marketers who were dressed to impress.

The night proved to be just as special for the Elevation Ten Thousand team as 14 trophies were awarded for a variety of campaigns.

This year, E10K took home 14 awards — 12 silver and two gold trophies.

“It has been incredibly gratifying watching the team take a concept and bring it to life — from an outline on a whiteboard to a carefully crafted website, video, billboard design, or piece of content, the outcome always exceeds my expectations,” said Elevation Ten Thousand President David Miclette.

The work spanned a variety of industries including pest control, automotive, police enforcement, and more.

Silver ADDY Awards

To begin the evening, the team took home 12 silver awards, including multiple silver ADDYs for the Catseye Pest Control website.

“Catseye was definitely my favorite project. The business already had some really fun brand elements with the trio of pest-fighting cats,” said Director of Design and Development, Michael Farrell.

But having fun with a project and conveying brand elements is only part of the process. It’s also just as important — if not more so, to convey products and services in a concise manner.

“So, it was our job to expand on that and create a website that represented the fun nature of the Catseye brand while highlighting the professional, high-quality services they are known for,” Farrell continued.

By doing so, Farrell and the web development team were able to create a website that functions properly on all devices, represents the brand, and is easy for their audience to navigate.

The submissions that won silver ADDY Awards are as follows:

Judge’s Pick

Winning an award for hard work can be an amazing feeling, especially when it’s for a locally owned business such as Avital’s Apiaries. But the feeling is amplified that much more when the work is also a Judge’s Pick.

“The Judge’s Pick is an entry that a judge thinks stood out among the entries and is deserving of special recognition,” said Craf President James Lewis-Van Vorst.

Receiving an award for a project offers a tremendous sense of recognition. But when a judge says it was their favorite entry for the evening, that’s an even greater accomplishment.

The still photography was needed so that the handmade products and the high-quality ingredients were highlighted in a thoughtful, intriguing fashion.

It’s one thing to show a consumer the ingredients used in a product, it’s another to do it in a way that makes it look desirable and high-end.

And the images are stunning if we do say so ourselves.

Gold ADDY Awards

The evening was capped off by taking home two gold trophies, both for the recruitment video created for the Colonie Police Department.

  • Internet Commercial – Single Spot: Colonie Police Department, COLONIE POLICE DEPT.
    RECRUITMENT
  • Video Editing — Colonie Police Department, COLONIE POLICE DEPT.
    RECRUITMENT

The goal of the video is two-fold — inspiring those intrigued by the police community to apply for admittance into the academy and to also improve community relations.

“I am always excited to play a role in our projects — even the smallest part. But as a resident of Colonie, New York, it was an honor to show the public a side of the men and women on the CPD force that we might not typically see,” Miclette continued.

Showcasing this side of the police force was no small task. Producing and editing the video took more than 200 hours in a span of just six weeks, a huge undertaking but well worth it.

What are the ADDY Awards?

Receiving awards for our hard efforts and client dedication is quite exciting — if not completely enthralling. But if you haven’t heard of the ADDY Awards, it may be a bit difficult to understand the level of importance these awards hold.

It is the largest award ceremony that represents the advertising industry designed to reward the creative spirit of advertising.

There are three levels, entries are first judged at the local level. Winners then advance to the second level and participate in one of 15 district competitions.

Finally, after district winners are selected, the individuals or agencies advance to the third level of judging — the national finals.

So, to win an ADDY Award is to prove that the talent and work are truly the best-of-the-best.

The E10K team would like to extend our congratulations to the night’s winners. We look forward to seeing you — and your projects, next year.
