To handle it with ease, grace, and efficiency requires a special skillset and a team that can adapt to stay ahead of the curve.
With that in mind, we’d like to introduce you to Lauren O’Donnell — the latest newcomer for our social media and public relations department.
10 Questions with Lauren O’Donnell
Lauren comes to us with a diverse portfolio of experience — including time spent working for the Boston Celtics.
Take a few moments to get to know her and be sure to say, “hello!” the next time you’re on a call or see her in the office.
1. Where Have You Lived & Where Do You Live Currently?
I was born in Western Massachusetts, but I grew up in Troy, New York, which is where I currently reside. While attending college I lived on the North Shore of Boston.
2. What Has Your Professional Work Experience Been Like So Far in Your Career?
During my senior year of college, I spent a semester with the Boston Celtics as a Media Relations and Public Relations intern. That was probably one of the coolest experiences of my life so far!
For my professional work, I have held previous internships with a local PR firm.
I most recently worked at St. Mary’s School in Waterford, NY due to Covid-19. During that time, I did content design along with a variety of miscellaneous tasks, basically wherever I was needed. I really loved working with the kids, they teach you a lot more than you realize!
3. What Inspires Your Work & How do You Stay Up to Date with Trends?
I’d say semi-minimalistic, yet profound elements are a good way to describe my inspiration for my work. Draw the consumer in by getting straight to the point but provide something a little extra to make them want more.
I stay up to date with trends by finding articles on platforms like LinkedIn and participating in webinars whenever possible.
And I use TikTok to help keep up with trends — you’d be surprised at how much you can learn from that platform.
4. Do You Have Any Hidden Talents or Hobbies?
My hobbies include hiking, spending time with family, working out, going on walks whenever possible, listening or watching anything related to true crime, and reading.
But, when I get too antsy, I like to clean (lol).
5. What is Your Favorite Holiday?
My favorite holiday would have to be Thanksgiving. I love Christmas as well, but I love the season just as much.
Thanksgiving is nice because not only do you get to see all of your family and friends, but the Christmas season basically starts the day after.
6. Do You Have a Favorite Sport or Team?
I know I might get some hate for this one, but my favorite sports teams are all Boston-based teams. Half of my family is from Massachusetts, so it just kind of stuck with me.
Adding to my love of Boston-based sports were some monumental occasions while attending college just outside of Boston. The Patriots won the Super Bowl twice out of the four years I was there and the Red Sox won a World Series while I was there.
I also spent quite a bit of my senior year working for the Celtics.
I don’t mean to brag, but Boston fan bases are loyal!
7. What Genre of Music Do You Like & What Was the Best Concert You’ve Attended?
I like all genres of music. I’m not really picky with what I listen to, my music library is all over the place. If you press shuffle, it could go in any direction.
I’m not a huge country music person, but Zac Brown Band and Chris Stapleton both put on a really great concert.
8. What is Your Favorite Movie?
This is a tough one. I really like comedies and thrillers, it just kind of depends on my mood that day.
I’d say my most recent favorite movie has to be A Simple Favor with Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick. I’ve recently come to realize that it’s a good combination of the comedy and thriller genres.
9. Do You Have Any Pets?
I have two Siamese cats named Gracie and George. Gracie is nine and George is three, so they’re usually not on the same page.
10. What Book Would You Recommend to a Friend? Why?
I don’t have a specific book to recommend, but I do have an author that I have recommended to all of my friends at one point or another.
Shari Lapena writes fiction thrillers, but her books are all so well-written that each time I have read one, I finished it in two days or less. And I stalk her website for her newest release.
Lapena just has a way of writing that draws in the reader and makes you not want to put the book down.
