Elevation Ten Thousand Takes Home Seven ADDY Awards
The year 2018 is already a big one for the team at Elevation Ten Thousand.
The newly branded Capital Region Ad Federation (formerly known as the Albany Ad Club) 2018 ADDY Awards took place at Proctor’s Theatre this past weekend, and we took home seven awards for a variety of work completed in 2017.
Our media submissions earned us four gold ADDYs and three silver ADDYs. Not bad for our first time submitting as an agency.
Our first award of the night was for our own website, elevation10k.com, which is exciting for us since the site represents us and the work we do for our clients. Elevation Ten Thousand web developer Michael Farrell accepted the silver ADDY for the Online/Interactive category of Advertising Industry Self-Promotion.
“As an emerging marketing agency, we set out to create a strong web presence that builds brand recognition by showcasing our depth of services, talent, and culture,” said Farrell, who designed and developed much of the site. “It was really rewarding of the judges to recognize that effort.”
The majority of our awards were for the “Hello, Albany” Giulia commercial created for Alfa Romeo of Albany. Our video production team put more than 100 hours of work into the 30-second spot.
Some of the more unique aspects of production included drone shots and the participation of stunt driver Mark Pettograsso, whose credits include “Salt,” “Gotham,” “Blue Bloods,” “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” “The Town,” and the upcoming M. Night Shyamalan film, “Glass.”
The five awards captured for “Hello, Albany” were:
- Gold Addy: Film, Video, and Sound Television Advertising – Local Single Spot :30 Seconds
- Gold Addy: Elements of Advertising – Sound – Sound Design
- Gold Addy: Elements of Advertising – Film & Video – Cinematography
- Gold Addy: Elements of Advertising – Film & Video – Video Editing
- Silver Addy: Elements of Advertising- Sound – Voiceover Talent
“Successfully pairing such a succinct and accessible concept with a local brand is often rewarding in its own right,” video creator Stephen Gemmiti said of the w. “Seeing those efforts recognized by our peers in the industry is encouraging, motivating, and will be a source of continued inspiration moving forward.”
Elevation Ten Thousand was also awarded a silver ADDY for its more-than-60-seconds-long promotional video for Alfa Romeo of Albany’s Saratoga Museum Event. The award was given for Film, Video & Sound of Branded Content & Entertainment for Online Film, Video & Sound.
The body of nominated work was inspiring and showed how deep the talent pool is here in the Capital Region. Thank you to the judges and congratulations to all the other winners and nominees, especially Trampoline Design for taking home the Betsy best of show award (even though you beat us)!
A special shoutout goes to our own James Lewis-Van Vorst who co-chaired the event. Not sure if putting our table next to the bar was intentional, but thank you for that too.
We are looking forward to regionals … and then hopefully nationals!
